OMAHA, Neb. — GreenSlate Development today announced its evolution to GreenSlate Development Partners, marking a new chapter in the firm’s continued growth and deepening commitment to city-building in Omaha and beyond. As part of this transition, the firm proudly welcomes Scott Dobbe, AIA, as Partner and President, effective June 1, 2026.
The name GreenSlate Development Partners signals what has always been at the firm's core: a belief that great development is fundamentally a practice of partnership — with communities, with neighbors, with investors, and with the city itself. As GreenSlate Development Partners, the firm is sharpening that identity and building the team to match.
Founded in 2013 by Jay Lund and Matt Dwyer, GreenSlate has played a defining role in Omaha’s urban renaissance over the past decade. The firm has led the revitalization of the Blackstone District, helped bring new life to the historic Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, and delivered Catalyst Omaha, a transformation of the historic Omaha Steel Works into a dynamic hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
To date, GreenSlate has delivered nearly 1,000 residential units in Omaha's urban core, along with more than 600,000 square feet of commercial space — a portfolio built one intentional project at a time, and one that continues to support a growing ecosystem of local businesses and entrepreneurs.
“This next chapter is about building on what we’ve started, and doing it at an even higher level,” said Jay Lund, Partner and Co-Founder. “Scott brings a rare combination of design expertise, civic leadership, and deep commitment to the future of our city. His addition strengthens our ability to create places that matter.”
Beginning June 1, Dobbe will help lead the firm’s strategic direction, project development, and continued expansion, reinforcing its focus on high-quality, community-centered urban development.
A licensed architect, Dobbe will join GreenSlate following eight years as Executive Director of Omaha by Design, where he has led a cross-disciplinary team focused on advancing people-centered urban design and public policy. Under his leadership, the organization has become a leading voice in shaping Omaha’s built environment through initiatives spanning land use, transportation, public art, and housing. He will remain in that role through May 31st, 2026, ensuring a smooth leadership handoff before joining GreenSlate Development Partners on June 1st.
"GreenSlate has built something rare: A development firm that measures success not just in returns, but in the strength of the places it creates," said Scott Dobbe, incoming Partner and President. "I'm honored to join this team and excited to help write the next chapter: deepening that commitment to great places and a future Omaha can be proud of."
The firm’s leadership team will now include:
Together, the team brings a shared commitment to thoughtful development, strong partnerships, and projects that enhance both the physical fabric and long-term vitality of the communities they serve.
GreenSlate Development Partners will continue to pursue projects that prioritize design excellence, walkable urbanism, and meaningful community impact — reinforcing its role as a builder not just of buildings, but of neighborhoods and opportunity.
